Hans Holbein the Younger
1497/8–1543

Holbein trained with his father and joined Basel's painters' guild in 1519. In 1526 he travelled to England with Erasmus's recommendation to Thomas More, returning to settle in 1532. Alongside paintings and print designs, he made designs for jewellery and metalwork.
