Mary Cassatt
1844–1926

Cassatt entered the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts at sixteen and continued training in Europe. She joined the Impressionist circle in 1877 and was the only American artist to exhibit with the group. Advising collectors, she also helped American museums acquire European art.
