Morisot studied with her sister Edma and painted outdoors under Corot's guidance. After exhibiting at the Salon, she joined the Impressionist exhibitions in 1874. Her home became a meeting place for artists and writers, including Renoir, Degas, Cassatt and Mallarmé.
