Bartolomé Estebán Murillo

Murillo became the leading painter of later seventeenth-century Seville, initially influenced by Velázquez and Zurbarán. Major religious commissions connected him with San Francisco convent, the cathedral and the Caridad church. Work on complete cycles shaped much of his career.
