Wang Yuanqi

Wang Yuanqi studied with his grandfather Wang Shimin and developed ideas associated with Dong Qichang. He explored how separate mountain masses form a coherent space. For Wangchuan Villa he used a rubbing from an engraved image and poems by Wang Wei. His knowledge of the site passed through generations of texts and pictures.
