Unidentified Ottoman calligrapher and illuminator

A sultan's tughra involved different specialists. A calligrapher drew the established combination of name, titles and formulas of authority; an illuminator added floral ornament and gold. The makers of this sheet are unidentified. The joint catalogue credit preserves the distinction between constructing the emblem and decorating it.
