Ren Renfa

Ren Renfa's horse paintings appealed to Chinese scholars and Mongol court patrons. He worked during the Yuan period's renewed interest in older models. His sources included Li Gonglin's drawing and the colour treatment of the Tang painter Han Gan. Earlier painting helped him address the tastes of different audiences.
