Jean Antoine Watteau
1684–1721

Watteau developed pastoral scenes of courtship and sociability in landscapes. His pupil Jean-Baptiste Pater completed some unfinished works. In particular cases, including Pastoral Gathering, the division of their contributions remains qualified.
